It is offered to students who excel in their chosen field and wish to study in North America or Europe. All students who wish to pursue full-time master’s, MPhil or a doctorate programme can apply for the scholarship through an online application available on the official website. The scholarship is only for master’s students and isn’t available for any undergraduate course.

The maximum amount that the scholarship can cover is USD 100,000. The online application portal opens in January/February each year and the last date of submission is end March/ early April. The scholarship is open for all the Indian citizens who hold a first-class degree from an Indian university and are continuously resident in India for the last six months at the time of making an application. Candidates also need to have a prior experience of minimum 2 years

Fulbright-Nehru Research Scholarship

Fulbright-Nehru Research Scholarship is considered to be one of the most prestigious scholarships to study in USA for Indian students. The candidates are selected through a rigorous selection process. The scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation charges, stipend, airfare (to and from the home country), and other fees.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, the candidate must be an Indian citizen with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Further, the candidate also needs to submit English language proficiency scores. The application deadline for this scholarship is usually July 15 every year.

Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowships for Indian Students

The Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowships is another fellowship program which falls in the list of scholarships in USA for Indian students. It has been specifically made by Reliance Industries along with the Stanford University Graduate Business School in order to provide the opportunity to deserving candidates to study at Stanford Graduate Business School. This program offers up to 5 fellowships every year to all the deserving candidates and covers their tuition fees and associated fees for the two-year MBA program which covers almost USD 150,000 total. However, the fellow students are expected to return to India for work post their completion of the MBA program.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Programme

Next in the list of scholarships to study in USA for Indian students is the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Programme. It provides ten months of non-degree study and related professional experiences in the USA. The selection for the fellowship programme is based on the candidate’s potential for leadership and their commitment to public service in either the public sector or the private sector. The programme was started in 1978 and has been providing almost 150 fellowships annually since then. The fellowships are awarded competitively to candidates who are mid-career professionals in many fields. The Indian Trust Fellowship

The Indian Trust Fellowship has been devised to help Indian students study MBA at Booth School of Business in Chicago. The fellowship programme covers the tuition fees of USD 10,000. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, you must be living or working in India when applying to the scholarship. The programme grants 2 scholarships every year. It is the most prestigious scholarships to study in USA for Indian students.

American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

This scholarship programme is aimed to help high performing students get a bachelor’s degree in the USA. They focus on students who plan to help improve the under-resourced and underserved communities back in their home country. Only 1 scholarship is granted each year and covers all billable expenses like tuition fees, room and board and doesn’t cover non-billable expenses. The programme is renewable for four years and is based on continued satisfactory and academic performance.

Tata Scholarships for Cornell University

The Tata Education and Development Trust has given $25 million endowment fund that will allow Cornell University to provide financial aid to undergraduate students from India. This programme will provide scholarships to approximately 20 students and make sure that the deserving candidates get to study at Cornell regardless of their financial background. It is one of the most sought after scholarships to study in USA for Indian students due to the opportunities it provides. The application deadline for this scholarship is usually 15 July every year.

AAUW International Fellowships

The AAUW International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research in USA to women from other countries. The fellowship awards 5 international women to pursue full-time graduate courses and aims to encourage them to be the future leaders and influencers of the future. The scholarship awards an amount of $1800. Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship

The Rotary Foundation Grant awards scholarships to study in USA for Indian students in six areas listed as below-
